DEVELOPMENT OF A REPUTABLE INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL ARTICLES TRAINING MODEL BASED ON A PROCESS-GENRE APPROACH : METHODOLOGIES AND TEACHING APPROACHES

This research seeks to create a training model for producing articles in reputed international journals using a process-genre approach. This study employs the research and development approach, utilising a 4-D development model that encompasses four distinct stages: definition, design, development, and dissemination. The research sample was selected using a combination of random and purposeful sampling methods. Data collection employs many methods, such as questionnaires, interviews, documentation, and focus group discussions. The research findings indicate that English lecturers at IAIN in Indonesia require a training model that can offer direction and information to enhance their ability to publish articles in reputable international journals. The researcher devised four syntaxes that were incorporated into this training model for writing journal articles, specifically: (1) establishing context, (2) delivering training material, (3) engaging in collaborative writing during training, and (4) practicing independent writing. The validation results indicate that the material aspect received an average score of 3.5, indicating a high level of validity. Similarly, the linguistic element acquired a score of 3.6, also indicating a high level of validity. The graphic aspect, on the other hand, received a score of 3.25, indicating a valid level of validity. The responses given by the FGD participants support the research findings that the training approach for writing articles for international journals has proven to be effective. The research findings confirm the validity and practicality of the developed training model book, making it appropriate for usage.
