EMBRACING INCLUSIVITY: DIFFERENTIATED INSTRUCTION IN EFL GRAMMAR TEACHING FOR YLE : INCLUSIVITY IN THE CLASSROOM

Implementing Differentiated Instruction in EFL grammar teaching for Young Learners of English (YLE) is crucial for creating an inclusive classroom environment. It prompts essential questions regarding the pivotal role of Differentiated Instruction in addressing diverse learning needs among young EFL learners: How can educators tailor instruction to accommodate individual linguistic skills, cultural contexts, and learning preferences within grammar teaching? What tactics can they employ to promote inclusivity and ensure active student participation, fostering an environment where every learner feels valued and supported? This presentation will underscore the proactive approach of implementing differentiated instruction, including Cooperative Learning, Project-Based or Problem-Based Learning, Learning Stations, and Flipping the Classroom, which empowers educators to adapt their teaching methods and materials to suit the unique needs of each learner and enhances student engagement and fosters a sense of belonging and equity in the classroom (Tomlinson, 2018). Moreover, the presentation will encourage active participation from attendees, including a hands-on practical exercise during the conference. Through collaborative efforts, participants will design and develop tailored grammar lessons designed to meet the varied needs of young learners in EFL classrooms. This interactive session will provide concrete examples and strategies that attendees can implement in their teaching practice to promote inclusivity and support the success of all students.
