IMPLEMENTING ONLINE PLATFORMS TO ENHANCE THE WRITING SKILLS OF FOUNDATION-YEAR BUSINESS MANAGEMENT STUDENTS. : DIGITAL LITERACIES/LANGUAGE LEARNING AND TECHNOLOGY
The use of online platforms has been a long-lasting trend in educational research. Numerous studies have examined the use of technology-driven resources in the sphere of primary and secondary schools, as well as online learning in the times of the COVID-19 pandemic. However, due to the rapid development of cutting-edge technologies, technology-enhanced instruction and learning are becoming applicable for a wider range of contexts. Digital technology and online platforms offer a lot of benefits when it comes to language learning and academic writing instruction for business and management university students, in particular. This study aims to investigate the advantages of integrating digital technology and various online platforms in the academic writing teaching and learning of business management university foundation year students to enhance their academic performance. Also, this research seeks to investigate the ways online-based platforms and their adequate implementation facilitate solid writing skills development, practice, as well as feedback and assessment methods in the Academic Writing university programme. It will consider a wide range of modern technological tools that can assist both teachers and learners in building strong academic writing skills and supporting a more productive teacher-student relationship. The paper will further provide recommendations for the most beneficial online platforms and digital tools for enhancing academic writing skills in educational frameworks of foundation-year business management students.
Shakhnozakhon Fakhriddinova is a Leading Lecturer at the Management Development Institute of Singapore in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. Teaches English and leads lectures on Tourism and Hospitality. TESOL and TEFL certified English teacher with over ten years of experience. Her research interests include Academic Writing, English for Academic Purposes, and Materials Design.
Elena Khanzadyan is a clinical psychologist and a Leading Lecturer at Management Development Institute of Singapore in Tashkent, trainer-trainer in governmental projects. She is a dedicated professional with a 19-year teaching experience in ELT, Academic Writing, Communication Skills, Business Ethics and Psychology, running academic programs, course development and testing.
