Title: The Role of Games in Early Foreign Language Education Abstract: The study aims to highlight the considerable significance and effective utilization of the game-based approach in the educational practices of young language learners. Summary: This research examines the optimal learning period for English during preschool years and presents a compelling integration of games in early foreign language education for preschoolers. Emphasizing the positive influence on the development of diverse abilities, games are identified as a central activity in this stage, offering an engaging and fruitful method for language acquisition. By stimulating logical thinking, memory, attention, speech, and creativity, games effectively contribute to the learners' overall linguistic growth. The work also emphasizes the importance of games as a core component of language learning, rather than a supplementary tool. They offer stimulation, variety, and motivation, promoting positive attitudes towards learning English and boosting children's confidence and self-esteem. By actively participating in games, children develop independent work skills, collaboration, and the ability to follow instructions. Furthermore, the article highlights the need for careful selection, setup, and management of games to ensure desired learning outcomes. It also emphasizes the significance of individualized approaches, considering each child's unique psychological processes such as perception, thinking, feelings, temperament, character, and abilities. Games offer a fun, engaging, and effective way to develop language skills and other essential abilities of young language learners. Finally, the research provides information on ways of integrating games into the curriculum, and considering individual differences, motivating and enriching language learning environment for educators.
Mamadayupova Vasila Shonazarovna, born in 1974 in Tashkent. She graduated from the Pedagogical Institute in 1996. At present, she is a senior teacher at Tashkent State University of Law. V. Mamadayupova has published scientific articles in Scopus-indexed foreign journals. She holds TESOL (level 7), TQUK (level 5), and TOLES certificates.
