DDT STRATEGY: A DIGITAL READING PACKET : TEACHING YOUNGER LEARNERS
Teaching and learning processes of English language skills has moved further from traditional and closer to digitalization since Covid-19 pandemic which forced educators to transform their ways of teaching. The immersion of technology into English language lessons not only helps with effective teaching and learning but also addresses the problem of overcrowded classrooms. A 10 year-olds classroom consisting of 41 pupils was chosen in this research. The overcrowding had caused difficulties in teaching reading for a group of pupils in a large number. The combined use of Quizizz AI, Quizizz Paper Mode and reading text for reading lessons were a lifesaver for educators, and a fun way for the pupils to be interested in learning. As a conclusion, the Digital-Digital-Traditional (DDT) Strategy in reading lessons proved to be helpful for educators not only in terms of lesson planning and delivery, but also in assessing pupils’ performance immediately after.
