THE POSITIVE IMPACT OF TEAMBUILDING ACTIVITIES IN ENGLISH CLASSROOMS OF UPPER INTERMIDIATE LEVEL STUDENTS : METHODOLOGIES AND TEACHING APPROACHES

Teambuilding activities have been shown to have a positive impact on various aspects of education, and the area where they can be particularly beneficial is in the development of integrating skills in the English classroom. The team-building activities foster a collaborative and supportive environment, which encourages students to work together and engage in meaningful interactions. Furthermore, these activities promote active participation and engagement, as students are motivated to contribute their ideas and opinions to achieve the common goal. This active participation not only enhances students' language skills but also develops their critical thinking and problem-solving abilities. Teambuilding activities also provide an opportunity for students to practice English language skills in a real-life context, as they communicate and collaborate with their peers to complete tasks and solve challenges. This practical application of language learning not only increases students' confidence in using English, but also helps them develop interpersonal skills such as communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution. During the workshop participants practice team-building abilities through various activities such as group-building the bridge of fortune, discussions, roleplays, problem-solving tasks, marshmallow tower and collaborative projects. Working in a group and understanding each other, cooperating and having a responsible task among group participants dominate in this activity. At the end of the workshop participants will learn to design team-building activities and incorporate them into engineering, mathematics, art - design and critical thinking, and learn structured problem-solving, and self-determination. These activities give a huge opportunity to students stay engaged in learning a foreign language
