CONTENT ANALYSIS OF CURRICULUM RELATED TO ENGLISH FOR ISLAMIC STUDIES IN INDONESIA : ENGLISH FOR ACADEMIC/SPECIFIC PURPOSES
This study is directed to reveal the framework of the recent English for Islamic Studies curriculum in Islamic Universities in Indonesia. There are twenty course outlines and syllabus of English for Islamic Studies from various fields of knowledge will be scrutinized in term of the form, purpose, indicator of learning success, method of teaching, teaching and learning media, references, and evaluation. The focus has been on descriptive analytic research methodology which gather the data and group the content based on the principles of ESP curriculum proposed by British Council and Vysotska. The results are expected to be an important path of ESP curriculum development milestone in Indonesia.
Dr. Effrina Yuricki, M.Pd is an academic in the field of Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) with six years of experience. His expertise focuses on TEFL, Academic Writing and Literature. There are more than 14 scientific articles discussing TEFL and they have been published in various reputable scientific journals.
Dr. Wahyunengsih, M.Pd is a TEFL professor with experience fifteen years. Her areas of expertise focus on TEFL, ESP, and Literature. More than 150 scientific articles discussing ESP and TEFL have been published in various reputable scientific journals. Currently, she studies on EFL curriculum development as well as in ESP.
