HARNESSING THE POWER OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE FOR ADAPTIVE LEARNING MATERIAL DESIGN : GLOBAL ISSUES IN LANGUAGE EDUCATION

This workshop will explore how educators can address the Global Issues while preparing students for the digital age of language learning through innovative teaching methods. By incorporating modern technologies such as Chat GPT, English language teachers can enhance students' engagement with Global issues while fostering critical thinking, digital literacy, and creativity. Through examples of classroom activities, this workshop will demonstrate how educators can strike the following: - Challenges of engaging students with Global issues in the digital age of language learning. - Overview of modern technologies and tools for teaching language and Global Issues. - Examples of innovative class activities and projects. - Practical strategies for implementing these approaches in the English classroom, including tips for lesson planning, resource selection, and assessment. - Collaborate with fellow educators to brainstorm ideas, share best practices and share feedback on teaching material development. This workshop aligns with the conference theme and planned to offer valuable insights and strategies for English educators seeking to enhance their teaching practices. Attendees can practice using Chat GPT to create engaging and effective teaching materials that will inspire studies of Global Issues and foster critical thinking including exploration of the challenges and opportunities of teaching English in the digital age. There will be collaborative group work to create based on workshop principles and strategies.

Dr. Manashi Gogoi Dutta is currently working as an English Language and Linguistics Lecturer at the King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang of Bangkok. She is keen in learning and researching on solution oriented curriculum and material development in the field of language teaching and learning.
