ELEVATING COMMUNICATIVE COMPETENCE: FOSTERING ENGAGING, INCLUSIVE CLASSROOM OBSERVATIONS : METHODOLOGIES AND TEACHING APPROACHES

Lively classroom conversations boost English language development and support strong, exciting learning communities. Encouraging all students to lean into discussions can be quite a challenge for educators. Designing and facilitating inclusive, engaging classroom discussions is the aim of this active workshop. Four methods of interactive communication, debate mat, picture chat, four corners, and Socratic Seminar, will be explored by participants. Resources for each of the four methods will be shared for effective implementation. The workshop will also cover ideas for method adaptation for various age and language abilities and two options for scoring. This session promises to be a highly interesting and engaging experience for all participants.
