USING DIGITAL TOOLS ENHANCES THE LANGUAGE LEARNERS' SELF-REGULATED AND COLLABORATIVE LEARNING : DIGITAL LITERACIES/LANGUAGE LEARNING AND TECHNOLOGY

In today's digital age, the integration of technology in education has become increasingly prevalent, offering new avenues for language learners to engage with course materials and interact with their peers. This proposal aims to explore the benefits of using digital tools to enhance language learning, specifically focusing on how such tools can facilitate self-regulated and collaborative learning among students. Objective: The primary objective of this proposal is to investigate the effectiveness of digital tools in promoting self-regulated learning strategies and fostering collaboration among language learners. By understanding the impact of these tools on student engagement, motivation, and language proficiency, we aim to provide valuable insights for educators and curriculum developers seeking to optimize language learning experiences. Digital tools often offer interactive and multimedia content, which can capture learners' interest and motivation. This engagement can lead to increased participation and active involvement in the learning process, fostering self-regulated learning behaviors such as goal setting and task engagement. Many digital tools provide adaptive learning features that cater to individual learners' needs and preferences. Through personalized exercises, feedback, and progress tracking, learners can take more ownership of their learning journey, adjusting their pace and focus according to their strengths and areas for improvement. Digital tools facilitate collaboration among language learners, allowing them to interact with peers, exchange ideas, and collaborate on projects regardless of geographical barriers. Features such as discussion forums, group chats, and collaborative documents enable learners to engage in meaningful interactions, practice language skills, and learn from each other's experiences. Overall, the integration of digital tools into language learning environments can empower learners to take control of their learning process, collaborate effectively with peers, and achieve their language learning goals more efficiently.
