EXPLORING AI-POWERED ISPRING SUITE FOR INTERACTIVE SCORM LECTURES: INSIGHTS FROM VINH UNIVERSITY'S EFL PROGRAM : MATERIALS DESIGN
Recognizing the need for flipped classrooms and interactive content to boost engagement in today's digital age, this study examined perceptions of English lecturers and sophomore students at Vinh University's English Foreign Language Department regarding the use of AI-powered iSpring Suite for designing interactive SCORM lectures. The goal was to explore how AI could facilitate the creation of engaging e-learning materials and foster learner autonomy. Using an iterative design process informed by AI-powered content creation principles, SCORM lectures were developed within iSpring Suite. A mixed-methods approach, employing questionnaires and interviews, gathered data from both teachers and students. Quantitative data was analyzed using SPSS, while qualitative data was thematically coded to identify emerging patterns. Findings revealed positive perceptions among both groups. Teachers appreciated the time-saving efficiency and user-friendly interface, allowing them to focus on pedagogy. Students found the interactive elements, like quizzes and multimedia, engaging and beneficial. However, some technical difficulties were noted, including software glitches and compatibility issues. Future research should explore the long-term effects of AI-powered tools on student engagement, metacognition, attitude, performance, understanding, and achievement, as well as their potential for personalized learning. Additionally, the effectiveness of such tools in diverse educational contexts and with various student populations warrants further investigation.
