AN ANALYSIS OF PRAMBANAN TEMPLE REVIEWS TO INCREASE VISITOR SATISFACTION USING CORPUS LINGUISTICS APPROACH : LINGUISTICS, DISCOURSE ANALYSIS, AND RELATED AREAS

Prambanan Temple is a leading tourist destination in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. Google Maps shows a rating of 4.7. However, the rating only cannot determine the problems of this destination. Therefore, this study aims to see problems based on Google Maps reviews. To see the perception, data of 1000 reviews from January 2021 to May 2024 was collected. After eliminating some data, 424 reviews were obtained. After processing the data using AntConc, the analysis was conducted by checking the word frequency and collocation. The obtained data was 7972-word frequencies with 2440 hits. The top 50 words were candi, prambanan, tempat, bagus, bisa, ada, sangat, sejarah, wisata, masuk and panas. Among the words, only the word panas (hot) did show a negative review with 35 occurrences. The word panas collocated with the words banget (very much), karena (because), ngga (no/not), panas (hot), and cuaca (weather). This implies that the biggest complaint from the visitors is the hot weather in Prambanan Temple. The visitors complained that Candi Prambanan was very hot in the afternoon since the temple was in an open area. The collocations of karena panas suggested visitors anticipate the heat by bringing umbrellas, caps, and drinks and putting on sunscreen. Concerning this finding, the administrators of Candi Prambanan need to make strategies to increase visitors’ satisfaction.
