THE RELEVANCE OF THE CENTER OF EXCELLENCE(COE) CURRICULUM TO KI HADJAR DEWANTARA’S CONCEPTIONS IN FORMING THE CHARACTER OF STUDENTS : CURRICULUM AND SYLLABUS DESIGN
This research aims to explore the scope of the Center of Excellence (CoE) Curriculum with Ki Hadjar Dewantara's conception, as well as the relevance of the Center of Excellence (CoE) curriculum to Ki Hadjar Dewantara's conception of forming the character of students. The Center of Excellence (CoE) is a program policy in the field of education that emphasizes giving freedom to schools including teachers and students to innovate and learn independently. The background of this study is analyzing the harmony between the Center of Excellence (CoE) itself and Ki Hadjar's conception of Dewantara. The research method used is a literature study. The stages carried out in This literature study are 1) selecting source material from the journals; 2) searching for references; 3) reading library references; 4) writing down notes; and 5) presenting the results of the study journal. Based on the journal study, the results obtained show that there is relevance and connection between the center of the excellent (CoE) curriculum and Ki Hadjar Dewantara's conception of education in forming the student's character. So it can be concluded that the Center of Excellence (CoE) learning is relevant to the concept of education initiated by Ki Hadjar Dewantara where the principle of independence is very important for students so that the concept of learning is acquired not only in the process of providing knowledge to students but also students are given knowledge freedom to develop independently but with the supervision of teachers and parents.
