UNVEILING TEAMWORK IN TRANSLATION: BENEFITS AND CHALLENGES FOR TEACHING ENGLISH ACROSS CULTURES : INTERCULTURAL COMMUNICATION AND GLOBAL COMPETENCIES

This study explores teamwork in translation within English Language Teaching (ELT) settings across multicultural contexts, aiming to unravel how collaborative translation efforts can bolster the teaching and learning of English. With a focus on identifying the benefits and addressing the challenges inherent in team-based translation practices, this research seeks to provide actionable insights into optimizing teamwork for enhanced ELT outcomes. Employing a mixed-methods approach, the study combines quantitative surveys distributed to a stratified random sample of ELT practitioners and translators with qualitative semi-structured interviews among a purposively selected group with significant collaborative translation experience. Through statistical and thematic analysis of the collected data, the research aims to comprehensively understand collaborative translation's impact on ELT, highlighting the key advantages and obstacles educators and translators face. Ethical considerations, including informed consent and confidentiality, underpin the study's methodology. The outcomes include a detailed exposition of the dynamics of teamwork in translation, underlined by empirical evidence of its benefits and challenges. The findings contribute significantly to the field of ELT, offering recommendations for educators and translators to foster more inclusive and effective teaching practices through optimized teamwork in translation.
